The average guest age is between 35 - 55, but, like all major cruise lines, you should expect to see a lot of minors onboard during school vacation periods. In the Caribbean, passengers are aged 45+; the majority are American and Canadian, although sometimes you’ll find large groups of South Americans. In the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, passengers constitute a mix of primarily Italians, British, Germans, French and Swiss. As you will be interacting with many nationalities, being bilingual is desirable. If you want to perfect conversational speech skills, this is a great place to practice! In the summer season all ships are based in the Mediterranean, and it is fairly common to change monetary denominations from cruise to cruise. Obviously, you should have your wits about you and be prepared to handle different currencies in the casino. Tips are paid in the working currency per voyage (usually Italian lire) and exchange facilities to convert money to US dollars are available. For the right candidates, promotion prospects are high in this exciting, challenging and globe-trotting environment!
