Cabins
Space, of course, is at a premium on a ship, and casino staff is required to share a cabin with one other member of the casino division. Each cabin is provided with a television and video player. Your cabin steward will clean your cabin with regard to sheets, shower, bin, but will not pick up after you.
Your cabin is your home and is a place where you go to rest and relax. Since youll be living in close quarters with your roommate, your cabin must be kept clean at all times and will be inspected periodically by members of the security department who are accompanied by a Casino representative.
Of course, with so many exciting facilities onboard, you wont be spending much time in your room! Facilities onboard can include a crew deck with jacuzzi or small swimming pool, recreation area with dart board, ping pong table; crew gym and free laundry facilities. As a staff member, you will also have access to all guest facilities in your free time.
It is essential to take your limited cabin space into consideration when packing. We suggest that each crew member keep luggage down to two suitcases and a small carry on.
One of the best suggestions current staff have to offer you is not to pack too many clothes! Not only will you be sharing a modest-sized closet with your cabin mate, but the longer youre on board, the more you will inevitably buy at your various ports of call.
As far as essentials go, youll want to pack jeans, casual pants, shorts, bathing suit, tops, skirt/dresses, gym wear, casual shoes, sneakers. Remember to take sweater and a jacket for cooler days and nights during the winter season. It can also tend to be cool inside the ship, even in the middle of summer, due to air conditioning.
You will need to bring along your personal toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. or purchase them in port prior to joining the ship. The onboard shops mainly cater to our guests and carry limited items as souvenirs, jewelry and small personal travel items that guests may have forgotten to pack.
You may also want to pack small appliances such as electrical razors, hair dryers, and/or CD player. Since the electrical current onboard (110 volts, AC) differs from the voltage used in Europe, Australia and Africa, you may need to purchase new appliances or bring a voltage converter. It is also essential to bring a battery-operated alarm clock as fluctuation in the ships electrical current can cause electric clocks to run slowly.
Since you will be under sunny skies, dont forget your sunglasses and high factor sunscreen, too!
Safety is our first priority onboard our ships. Appliances with heating elements are a fire hazard and will not be permitted in your cabin. These include pressing irons, hot plates and electric coffee makers or other cooking devices. These will not be allowed, nor are they necessary since they are all provided for you onboard.
Items such as firearms, knives (exceeding 3 inches in length), electrical transformers and narcotics (drugs) are also not permitted on board.
Safety deposit boxes are provided onboard (in the Casino Office) for safekeeping of money and small items. However, it is suggested that you leave fine jewelry, important papers and other valuables at home.
